Sweet Success: Diane Bogyova’s Journey from Resident to Assistant Property Manager and Passionate Baker
At Dweck Properties, we believe that our team members’ unique passions and talents enrich our communities every day. Today, we’re especially excited to introduce you to Diane Bogyova, the Assistant Property Manager at Rolling Brook Village, whose journey with us is as layered and sweet as her famous cakes.
Diane’s path to property management is as unexpected as some of her cake flavors. She began as a resident at Rolling Brook before joining the community team as a leasing agent. Her talent and dedication led to a promotion as Assistant Property Manager at another Dweck community before returning to Rolling Brook Village as their Leasing Manager. Now, she serves as the Assistant Property Manager, overseeing a team of five. But there’s another side to Diane that adds a special flavor to Rolling Brook Village and the broader Dweck community – her passion for baking.
Growing up with a German mother, Diane was surrounded by delicious foods and desserts from an early age. “Watching my mom in the kitchen really sparked my interest,” Diane shares. “But it wasn’t until the last seven to eight years that I really started getting into baking, especially during the holidays and for family functions.” What started as bringing homemade treats to her local bowling alley soon turned into a word-of-mouth business. “People loved my baked goods and started ordering them for the holidays,” Diane recalls. One of her bowling friends even hires her annually to create themed birthday cakes for her daughter, challenging Diane with requests like Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and even a grape-flavored cake!
Diane’s baking has become an integral part of the Dweck community. She’s crafted welcome cakes for new employees and surprised colleagues with personalized creations. “When I found out Giselle, the Assistant Property Manager at Cosmopolitan, loved Oreos, I made her an Oreo cake,” Diane says. Her generosity extends to the holiday season, where she gifts her baked goods to friends and colleagues, taking one task off their busy plates. When asked about her favorite things to bake, Diane’s eyes light up. “I love making banana pudding, chocolate cake, and just experimenting in general,” she shares. “The smell of baked goods wafting through the apartment is so relaxing and comforting. It’s my therapy – I get in the kitchen, turn on some music, and start baking.”
Diane’s creativity shines through in her unique creations. Her most unusual request? The grape-flavored cake for her friend’s daughter. “I managed it by substituting one of the ingredients with grape soda,” Diane explains. “You need just the right amount – too much and it won’t rise, too little and it’s too dry.” While Diane keeps her recipes close to her heart, she did share a tantalizing description of her peanut butter cup boozy brownies. “The brownie base has Godiva chocolate liqueur, while the peanut butter ganache is made with vanilla whipped vodka,” she reveals.
Diane’s baking business, aptly named “My Favorite Things Desserts,” operates primarily through word of mouth. “Taste it, if you like it, you’ll order it!” is her motto. She takes orders via email ([email protected]) or text and delivers mainly on weekends, always requesting 48 hours’ notice for orders. At Dweck Properties, we’re proud to have team members like Diane who bring their whole selves to work. Her journey from resident to Assistant Property Manager, coupled with her passion for baking, exemplifies the diverse talents within our Dweck family.
Diane’s love for baking goes beyond business. “Even if I won the lottery, I would always bake just because of how much I love it and how happy it makes others,” she says. It’s this dedication to bringing joy, whether through property management or baking, that makes Diane a true asset to our Dweck community. Next time you’re at Rolling Brook Village, you might just catch the sweet aroma of Diane’s latest creation wafting through the air. And who knows? You might be lucky enough to taste one of her famous treats!
